You need to talk to Steve Jobs about that, because he took "the analytics community" to school over this very issue. Oh wait, he's dead. You will need to study your history to gather his thoughts. I will defer to his judgement, as an exercise for the reader.
That was a transformative moment. And the consequences are what we live with now.
There was a firestorm afterwards, spreading way beyond Apple, which some may have conveniently forgotten, but which burns to this day.
