Kind of. In our case it isn't even analytics, but we have a highly upvoted negative review for our diary app on the German Mac App Store. It basically says that our app "connects to Google, Yahoo! & Apple, sends private data to these big corporations and ignores the privacy of all users". We "connect" to Google, because we have a built-in map with the location where you've written your entry, to Yahoo! because we display the weather conditions and to Apple, because it is possible to store your diary in an encrypted format in iCloud. We had support requests that asked about this specific review which shows that people are concerned.

There are some pretty strange & paranoid folks out there and one country takes privacy more serious than another. If we would add analytics to our app and disclose it (which we have to do according to the German law) I can imagine that we would get a couple more negative reviews, because we "connect to Juicy Cocktail". At this point we would have to weigh the eventual higher sales because of app improvements due to analytics vs. the eventual lower sales because of negative reviews due to privacy concerns. From my experience you just can't do this, it's a gut decision.

Best,
Rafael
